A person who brings bad luck or bad vibes to a plan by constantly mentioning what could go wrong. It describes a jinx or someone whose negativity or pessimistic predictions supposedly cause the failure of an event (in the Dominican Republic, this act of jinxing is called azara).
On the way to the beach: Azaroso: Luis, did you fix all that crap on the car? Because you know this thing breaks down every second. Luis: You are always at it... This is all good, chill out man. Azaroso: No, just in case, you know... (Sound of a tire blowing out, they have to pull over). Luis: AZAROSO, you damn bastard, shit... what a mess with you man. You always azaras the whole thing, one cannot do anything with you, you popped that tire and I do not have a spare. The trip is ruined.
A person who is a major nuisance or a pest. It also refers to someone who snitches on you, particularly by telling your mother something you did not want her to know.
Ruber, you were a total marambao for going and telling mom all that gossip.
A person who messes with you and bugs you so much that they have you ready to run for the hills (taking to the hills refers to fleeing to the Dominican mountains to escape a stressful situation).
You mess with me so much that you have me al cojer la loma.
A person who thinks they are a jack of all trades but always ends up making a mess of things.
Tico, or anyone else who does not work and you see them on a Tuesday with a warm jumbo Brahma in their hand near my house (a jumbo Brahma is a large beer bottle common in the Dominican Republic).
A stubborn or thick-headed person who refuses to listen no matter how many times you repeat yourself (asaroso is a common Dominican term for someone frustrating or annoying).
Man, are you ANIMAL or what? I have been talking to you for a while now, damn it.
A supreme, heavy-duty insult used to describe a total scoundrel, functioning as an all-in-one curse that carries the weight of every other profanity combined. (The phrase literally means son of seven milks, implying the person was conceived by seven different men).
That damn son of a bitch, faggot, jinx, lowlife, son of a cunt, Hijo de la 7 Leche, etc.
Used to describe a disgraceful person who combines the qualities of a massive son of a bitch and a son of his goddamn mother (this term is a portmanteau of the common Dominican insults hijo de la gran puta and hijo de su maldita madre).
An example would be the former president of the Dominican Republic, Hipolito Mejia.
A state of being jinxed or cursed, specifically referring to the condition of the country since Leonel (The hurricane attractor) took over the presidential palace (referring to the superstition that former president Leonel Fernandez attracted natural disasters and bad luck during his time in office).
