An underhand basketball shot made by scooping the ball from below the waist, similar to how one would toss a heavy sack. (The word literally means chamber pot, referring to the scooping motion).
A street basketball rule where a violation is ruled invalid because the player who called it named the wrong infraction. It also applies when a call is not made immediately, which is known as a Tardanza (In Dominican street sports, players act as their own referees and must call infractions accurately and instantly for them to count).
A player runs with the ball:
- Double!
- Mal cante!
- Oh, so it was a travel!
- Too late!
A nickname for the Virgilio Travieso Soto Sports Palace in Santo Domingo, named for its orange, dome-shaped roof. The name stuck even after it was painted white in the mid 90s. (The Palacio de los Deportes is the primary indoor arena in the Dominican capital).
