A forceful backhanded slap or blow delivered with the knuckles, usually in a downward diagonal motion starting from the opposite ear to gain momentum. It is distinguished from a standard palm slap (galleta) by being the harder, more aggressive version of the strike. (Traditionally, this is the signature move for old-school Dominican parents to discipline misbehaving children; the dramatic wind-up is said to be enough to make a child lose control of their bowels out of fear).
